TIND ILS
A modern Integrated Library System for academic and special libraries.
Some of the libraries using TIND ILS
Why libraries are migrating to TIND ILS
Developed in partnership
"We actually have a say in how this system is going to develop. This partnership has given us an opportunity to contribute to the development of a more robust ILS for the entire library community."
— Marci Hoffman, Associate Director, Berkeley Law Library
A modern approach
"What we needed was an actively developed system designed with modern users and data practices in mind and a vendor with an eye toward progress and collaboration rather than tradition."
— Becca Neel, Asst. Director for Resource Management & UX, the University of Southern Indiana Library
Right-sized functionality
"TIND has filled a niche in the library systems market, providing standards-compliant functionality that is right-sized for smaller academic and research libraries."
— Julie C. Swierczek, Associate Librarian for Collection Description and Imaging, the Folger Shakespeare Library
An ILS with comprehensive functionality
OPAC
A modern and easy-to-use OPAC is provided. Indexes can be set up and customized. Users may perform searches using a simple or advanced search interface. Additionally, you can customize which fields are displayed to the public and which that are visible only to administrators.
Circulation
The circulation module has the ability to manage loans, holds, renewals, recalls as well as the ability to generate (automated) overdue notices. Multiple library branches are supported. Loan rules can be set up based on location, item type and patron type. Flexible loan lists ensure efficient circulation management.
Fines
TIND ILS fee management enables you to manage the amount patrons owe the library in fees and fines from loaned items.
APIs
Batch Edits
Powerful editor to make changes to existing records in the database, without needing to download/upload metadata. Changes can be done in specific MARC fields and are based on regular expression filtering.
Batch Uploads
Upload metadata batches of MARC21, CSV or XML records via a web interface. Uploads may add new records or replace, correct and/or delete existing records.
Cataloging
An advanced cataloging module is provided. The module allows for autocomplete of fields such as authors and subjects. Linking of authority records is also supported. Revision history is available for all edits. MARC templates can be customized for efficient cataloging.
Label Printing
Print labels from the item view in BibCirculation and from global lists.
Acquisitions
A vendor database allows for administration of vendors. Administration of acquisitions is possible through a special acquisition workflow, allowing for tracking of ongoing acquisition (status, vendor, items) as well as providing historical overviews of previous acquisitions and orders.
